Mnuchin urges U.S. Congress to finish next coronavirus stimulus in coming days

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has urged Congress to complete action by early next week on a massive economic stimulus plan in the midst of a coronavirus outbreak, according to a congressional aide familiar with conversations.

House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in a conference call on Wednesday with the chamber's leading Democrats, also said the fastest way to meet such an accelerated timetable would be if the top four Democratic and Republican leaders engaged in negotiations, the aide said.
