Grieving Mother Faces Harassment Over Protest Against Son’s Killing in Balochistan

In the latest development from Balochistan's Mastung district, a mother protesting the shooting of her teenage son by Pakistani security forces has claimed police intimidation, The Balochistan Post reveals. Her 17-year-old son, Syed Ehsan Shah, was reportedly killed at the Lak Pass Tunnel by Frontier Corps personnel on June 3.

Since August 5, the mother has been consistently staging a sit-in outside the Quetta Press Club in demand for justice. She claims a Deputy Superintendent of Police threatened her with arrest or enforced disappearance, urging her to halt her protest. Attempts to file a case have allegedly been met with intimidation, the family stated.

The grieving mother called for support from political parties and human rights organizations, vowing to continue her protests until justice is served. Despite obtaining a court-ordered murder case against unidentified FC personnel, the family reports a lack of actual progress. Her struggle raises questions about recurring abuses faced by the Baloch community.
