India-Russia Strengthens Ties Ahead of Putin's Upcoming Visit

In a move to bolster defense ties, India and Russia convened an expert panel in New Delhi from November 26 to 28, focusing on military and technical cooperation. The meeting was steered by Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) Amitabh Prasad and FSMTC Deputy Chief Yashin Sergey Borisovich, the Defence Ministry disclosed.
Both nations reiterated their enduring 'Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership' during the talks. Concurrently, a four-member delegation from the Russian Land Forces visited Indian Army formations, aiming to fortify defense collaboration and share expertise in 'integrated safety and security of defense infrastructure.'
As anticipation builds for Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to India from December 4-5, preparation is in full swing for the 23rd Annual India-Russia Summit. This visit will open avenues for extensive discussions on strengthening bilateral ties, covering political, economic, and technological spheres, as affirmed by the MEA.
