In a remarkable show of unity and spiritual devotion, supporters of the Tibetan movement from across India convened in McLeodganj on Wednesday to extend their prayers for the long life of Tibetan spiritual leader, Tenzin Gyatso.
Organized by the Core Group for Tibetan Cause-India, the ceremony aimed to celebrate the rich tapestry of faiths and regions in India while displaying solidarity for the Dalai Lama. R K Khrimey, national convener of the Core Group, underscored the event's significance, emphasizing the historic unity of diverse religious communities rallying for a common cause.
The gathering featured traditional ritual performances by individuals from Arunachal Pradesh, with Sonam Wangdue explaining the Cho practice's cultural roots and its relevance to the ceremony. He hailed the Dalai Lama as a spiritual anchor, vital for their ongoing religious practices. The prayer ceremony drew participants from various Indian states, expressing unwavering support for Tibet's struggle for freedom.
