In a dramatic turn of events at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche revealed that the suspect involved in the security breach was apparently targeting members of the Trump administration. This revelation emerged during an interview on CNN's State of the Union, though the motive remains under investigation.

Blanche noted that preliminary findings suggest the suspect had specific intentions against government officials from President Trump's cabinet. Despite this, no concrete details regarding specific individuals targeted have been confirmed. Law enforcement has executed multiple search warrants overnight, scrutinizing electronic devices and interviewing acquaintances of the suspect.

The suspect, who traveled from Los Angeles to Washington, DC via Chicago, reportedly had two firearms and knives during the incident. Facing imminent federal charges, the 31-year-old man, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, was apprehended promptly, with law enforcement indicating that additional charges may ensue as the investigation progresses.

During the incident, swift action by the US Secret Service ensured President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and attendees remained unharmed, although a security officer sustained injuries. The event, a traditional gathering for media and political figures, was thrown into chaos as suspected gunshots led to immediate security measures and the President's evacuation.
