Abu Dhabi [UAE], June 11 (ANI/WAM): In the wake of a catastrophic 7.8 magnitude earthquake striking the southern coast of the Philippines, the UAE has mobilized its Aid Agency for immediate intervention. This natural disaster resulted in 35 fatalities and left over 200 people injured.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, emphasized the nation's sense of duty toward global communities facing natural calamities. He affirmed the UAE's commitment to easing the hardships of the affected population, focusing on early recovery and stabilization in conjunction with international organizations and local authorities.

The UAE conducted a rigorous needs assessment to tailor its aid effectively in collaboration with Philippine authorities, ensuring prompt delivery of vital resources aligned with United Nations' humanitarian assessments. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed heartfelt sympathies to the affected families in the Philippines.
