British MP Bob Blackman has launched a scathing criticism of the Pakistani military's actions in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), labeling the use of live ammunition against peaceful protesters as a 'despicable act' of state-sponsored violence.

Speaking to ANI, Blackman, a senior Conservative figure, expressed grave concern over the rising death toll. Official figures claim nine fatalities, but local sources report over 30 deaths with hundreds more injured. 'This attack targets civilians primarily struggling for food and human rights,' he remarked.

The issue has reached UK Parliament's attention, with Blackman noting British citizens are among those injured, making it a 'direct concern to the United Kingdom.' He has called for the Foreign Secretary to address Parliament, seeking clarity on the UK's response, and pressed for accountability from Pakistan's high commissioner.

Blackman highlighted a significant political shift as 30 British MPs, including longstanding Pakistan allies, jointly condemned the military's actions. He reiterated his view that Pakistan's control of Kashmir has been illegal since 1947 and advocated for the territory's reintegration into India, following UN resolutions.

Warning of potential escalation if military aggression continues, Blackman praised PM Narendra Modi's leadership, citing India's progress under his tenure. He emphasized strengthening India-UK ties, calling for reduced tariffs and broader sectoral cooperation, amid concerns over the geopolitical threat posed by China-Pakistan alignment.
