In a scathing critique, political activist Amjad Ayub Mirza has voiced strong opposition to Pakistan's management of ongoing disturbances in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). He accused the nation of perpetuating human rights abuses, political maneuvering, and violently suppressing protests.

Mirza pinpointed the catalyst for recent uprisings as demands for the abolishment of 12 reserved refugee seats in PoJK's Legislative Assembly, which he argued are manipulated by Pakistan's military to sway elections. Despite protests, authorities have scheduled general elections for July 27 without addressing public grievances.

Reports of a sweeping strike on June 9 led to heightened security measures, which Mirza described as an 'invasion,' alleging forceful suppressions resulted in the deaths of over 200 people. He further criticized Islamabad for treating PoJK as a 'colony' and underscored the region's call for self-determination against Pakistani dominance.
