Carney says latest Trump tariff threat not a surprise

​Canadian ​Prime Minister ‌Mark Carney ​said on Monday it ‌was not a surprise that the United States ‌would take some form ‌of reprisal against Canada, when asked about President ⁠Donald ​Trump's ⁠latest threat to increase tariffs ⁠on Canadian vehicles, auto ​parts and steel.

A mutually ⁠beneficial deal with the ⁠United ​States is possible, Carney added, even ⁠though negotiations broke down ⁠last week.
