EU condemns Belarusian "extremist" label on EU-funded websites

​The European ‌Union on ​Tuesday condemned a move ‌by Belarus to designate websites and social media ‌of EU-funded initiatives ‌as "extremist information sources" and urged it to reverse ⁠the ​decision.

The ⁠decision "is yet another example ⁠of the regime's systematic ​efforts to suppress critical ⁠thinking, restrict fundamental freedoms and ⁠shrink ​civic space," a spokesperson for the ⁠EU's diplomatic service said ⁠in ⁠a statement.
