German finance minister cancels India trip amid Berlin turmoil

​German Finance ‌Minister Lars Klingbeil ​has canceled the ‌India leg of his Asia trip this ‌week, his ministry said on ‌Monday, citing "current developments" in an emailed statement.

Earlier on ⁠Monday, ​Baerbel ⁠Bas, Germany's labour minister and ⁠co-leader of the centre-left ​SPD party together with Klingbeil, ⁠said that she ⁠would ​step down from both roles following ⁠the death of her ⁠stepdaughter.
