Death toll from drone strike in disputed Sudan-South Sudan area doubles to 153, official says

The ​death ‌toll from ​a drone strike on a ‌market in the disputed Abyei region along the ‌border of South Sudan and ‌Sudan, has doubled to 153 from around 73 people ⁠reported ​earlier, ⁠the region's caretaker information minister ⁠said on Tuesday.

South Sudanese ​officials have accused Sudan's ⁠military of carrying out the ⁠strikes. ​A spokesperson for South Sudan's armed forces ⁠did not immediately respond to ⁠a ⁠request for comment.
