Indian Government okays appointment of four railway GMs

The appointments of four general managers in the Indian Railways were approved Thursday by the government along with filling up of other senior posts.
Ajay Vijayvergiya, the GM of Metro Railway, has been appointed as GM, West Central Railway.
P C Sharma has been appointed as GM, Metro Railway, replacing Vijayvergiya, while Rajeev Chaudhry has been appointed as GM north Central Railway, Allahabad.
P S Mishra has been appointed GM, South eastern railway, Garden Reach, Kolkata.
Margoob Hussain, DG, RDSO Lucknow, has been appointed as GM Rail Wheel Factory, Yehalanka in Karnataka.
"The appointments committee of the cabinet has approved the railway minsitry's proposal for the appointment of GM and equivalent in the grade of Rs 75500-80000 with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post and until further orders," the order said.
It said the appointments are subject to the final outcome of the cases filed in CAT by Manoj Pandey and MK Gupta in New Delhi and Mumbai respectively.
The committee has also approved appointments of PK Mishra as GM Chittaranjan Locomotive Works and Pradeep Kumar as the Director General National Academy of Indian Railways Vadodara.
The post of Railway Board Member Rolling Stock, however, remains vacant.
