On May 24, 2024, General Manoj Pande, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), presided over the Passing Out Parade of the 146th Course at the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla, marking a significant milestone in the cadets' journey towards military service. A total of 1265 cadets, including 337 from the passing out Course, participated in the parade, representing various branches of the armed forces and friendly foreign countries such as Bhutan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Maldives. Notably, 24 female cadets also took part in the parade, showcasing the Academy's commitment to gender inclusivity in military training.

Established as the cradle of military leadership, NDA stands as the country's premier Joint Services Training Institution. The 146th course, inducted in June 2021, underwent three years of rigorous military training before culminating their journey in a grand ceremonial event. Following the parade, the cadets will proceed to their respective Pre-Commissioning Training Academies, poised to embark on their careers in the armed forces.

Among the cadets, Battalion Cadet Captain Shobhit Gupta distinguished himself by clinching the prestigious President's Gold Medal for securing the top position in the overall order of merit. Academy Cadet Adjutant Manik Tarun and Battalion Cadet Captain Anni Nehra were awarded the President's Silver Medal and President's Bronze Medal, respectively, for their outstanding performances. Additionally, Golf Squadron was honored with the coveted 'Chiefs of Staff Banner' for being the Champion Squadron, a testament to their collective excellence and teamwork.

Addressing the cadets, medal winners, and squadron champions, General Pande commended their dedication and exemplary performances, extending his gratitude to the proud parents for entrusting their children to the armed forces. He urged the cadets to uphold the spirit of jointness as they embark on their military careers, emphasizing the importance of embracing technological advancements driving the revolution in military affairs.

Following the Passing Out Parade, a solemn ceremony took place at the Hut of Remembrance, a revered monument at the National Defence Academy. General Pande paid homage to the brave alumni whose names adorn the walls of the memorial, symbolizing their unwavering courage, valor, and selfless service to the nation. Constructed by cadets from the 10th to 17th Course of NDA, the Hut of Remembrance stands as a timeless tribute to the sacrifices made by generations of cadets over the Academy's illustrious 75-year history.
