In Bangladesh, a special judge's court has indicted Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus and 13 others on charges related to an alleged embezzlement of over USD 2 million. The case is linked to Grameen Telecom’s workers welfare fund.

Yunus, 83, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for his microcredit initiatives, denied all charges, claiming harassment by authorities. He is currently out on bail.

The charges pertain to the alleged misappropriation of 250 million takas from Grameen Telecom, which owns a substantial share in Grameenphone. The trial is scheduled for July 15.
