Manoj Pant Appointed New Chief Secretary of West Bengal
The government of West Bengal has appointed Manoj Pant as the new chief secretary, replacing Bhagwati Prasad Gopalika. Pant, previously the finance secretary, will be succeeded by Prabhat Kumar Mishra in the finance department. Gopalika has retired after a three-month extension.

The West Bengal government has appointed senior bureaucrat Manoj Pant as the new chief secretary, an official said on Saturday. The order was issued less than 24 hours after Pant, who previously served as finance secretary, was reassigned to the Irrigation and Waterways Department.
Pant, an IAS officer from the 1991 batch, will take over the role from Bhagwati Prasad Gopalika, who retired on Saturday. Prabhat Kumar Mishra has been named to replace Pant in the finance department.
Bhagwati Prasad Gopalika, a 1989-batch IAS officer, had received a three-month extension after his initially scheduled retirement date of May 31.
