Seven people were injured in a blast at an illegal firecracker unit operating in a rented house in Nagal Guru village, Jandiala. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, around 25 kilometers from Amritsar city, police reported on Monday.
The house contained a large quantity of materials used to make firecrackers, which caught fire and resulted in the explosion. The blast damaged the building's walls and injured seven individuals, who are currently receiving treatment at a government hospital in Amritsar.
The owner of the house claimed he was unaware of the illegal activities until the blast occurred. An investigation by the police is underway.
