Bangladesh's interim government on Tuesday issued a stern warning against any activities aimed at destabilizing the nation. The Ministry of Home Affairs highlighted concerns over forced resignations, vandalism, arson, illegal searches, looting, and extortion by certain vested interests, The Daily Star reported.
The circular revealed that there's undue pressure on the police to file cases and attacks on the accused in court. It assured the public that legal actions will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate measures will be taken.
This warning comes in the wake of massive student protests over job reservation quotas, leading to the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Following the violent unrest, Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus took over as interim leader to restore stability.
