In a pivotal decision, Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has granted a significant relaxation in educational qualifications for the recruitment of victims of the 1984 Sikh riots to multi-tasking staff positions, according to an official release from Raj Niwas.
The educational qualification for these posts has been reduced from Class X to Class VIII, thereby broadening the eligibility criteria and potentially paving the way for a larger number of candidates to obtain employment.
The Lieutenant Governor has urged the concerned departments to also explore possibilities of providing job opportunities to children of deceased or aged applicants, reflecting a humanitarian approach to long-pending employment issues faced by victims' families.
