An explosion at a Givaudan plant in Louisville, Kentucky, has resulted in the tragic deaths of two workers, according to the company's statement on Wednesday.
Several others were injured in the blast that occurred on Tuesday at the Sense Colour factory. Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg reported that firefighters rescued many individuals, and first-responders transported 12 patients with injuries varying in severity from minor to critical.
Givaudan stated they are in the preliminary stages of investigating the incident's cause and are cooperating with local first-responders. Following the hazardous materials incident, local authorities issued a shelter-in-place order within a one-mile radius of the site.
