Counterfeit Currency Bust in Bareilly: Two Arrested, Prime Suspect Escapes

Authorities in Bareilly District of Uttar Pradesh have reported the arrest of two individuals linked to a counterfeit currency operation. The arrests were carried out after a tip-off from the military intelligence unit.
The suspects, Mohammad Yameen and Anmol Gupta, were apprehended during a raid on Agaras Tiraha, Sorha Road. A total of 514 counterfeit notes were confiscated from their possession, along with mobile phones and identification documents.
The investigation points to a supplier named 'Dumpi' as the source of the counterfeit currency, while the prime suspect, related to a former village head, remains at large. Legal proceedings are underway as the arrested individuals were presented in court.
