Jaya Bachchan Challenges Minister on Tribal Welfare Funds

Jaya Bachchan, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party, confronted Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Virendra Kumar, regarding the allocation of funds for Scheduled Tribe welfare in Madhya Pradesh.
During the Rajya Sabha's Question Hour, Bachchan, who is also from Madhya Pradesh, queried whether a Census had been conducted to assess the situation of Scheduled Tribes in the state.
Kumar responded that his role was to represent the entire country, yet Bachchan insisted on regional specificity related to the funds in question, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in the distribution and utilization of the welfare budget.
