The 27-year-old engineer, employed at a software company, was murdered near a Siddha facility. Authorities quickly apprehended Surjith on charges related to the murder.
The incident has also implicated Surjith's parents, both serving as sub-inspectors. They, along with their son, face charges under various sections of the country's legal framework, including the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
