The PM-JANMAN initiative has made substantial strides in enhancing the living conditions of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) across India. Thousands of houses, new roads, and mobile towers now grace tribal areas, according to recent government reports presented to Parliament.
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2023, the scheme aims to boost the socio-economic status of 75 PVTG communities. With a budget of Rs 24,104 crore, the initiative is being implemented through several interventions focusing on essential services such as housing, education, and health.
Impressive statistics shared in Parliament reveal significant progress, such as the sanctioning of over 4.6 lakh pucca houses and 7,406 villages receiving piped water supply. This transformative program is guided by nine central ministries to ensure comprehensive development within a three-year timeline.
