CPI(M) Leader Arrested for Sexual Harassment of Minor in Pudunagaram
A CPI(M) leader from Pudunagaram, identified as N Shaji, has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a class 10 student. The incident triggered police action, leading to Shaji’s arrest under the POCSO Act on October 1. He was also expelled from the CPI(M) party following the allegations.

A CPI(M) branch secretary from Pudunagaram has been arrested after allegations of sexual harassment by a class 10 student. The incident led to his judicial custody, according to police reports on Friday.
The incident occurred on September 30 when the girl visited the accused's shop. Identified as N Shaji, the accused allegedly misbehaved, prompting the girl's parents to file a complaint.
Pudunagaram police registered an FIR under the POCSO Act on October 1. Subsequently, Shaji was arrested and produced in court, where he was remanded in custody. The CPI(M) party expelled Shaji following the incident.
