Deadly Siege: Paramilitary Headquarters Targeted in Peshawar
A paramilitary force headquarters in Peshawar, Pakistan, suffered a deadly attack involving gunmen and suicide bombers, resulting in at least three fatalities. The army and police have sealed off the area, suspecting additional terrorists inside. Residents report the closure of surrounding roads near the military cantonment.
In a volatile incident on Monday, gunmen targeted the paramilitary force headquarters in Peshawar, Pakistan. According to police reports, the compound, home to the frontier constabulary, was also hit by two suicide bombers, leading to three confirmed deaths.
Sources indicate the initial bomber attacked the facility's main entrance, followed by a second bomber penetrating the compound. The situation remains tense as law enforcement, including the army and police, have encircled the area amidst concerns of more terrorists inside the premises.
Local resident Safdar Khan told Reuters that the army and police have cordoned off the vicinity, which lies near a bustling military cantonment, and have halted all traffic movements on surrounding roads.
