Justice Surya Kant Sworn In as 53rd Chief Justice of India

Justice Surya Kant was sworn in as the 53rd Chief Justice of India on Monday, marking a significant transition in the judiciary.
The ceremony, held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, was presided over by President Droupadi Murmu who administered the oath. Justice Kant succeeds Justice B R Gavai, and will serve until February 9, 2027.
Prominent figures like Vice President C P Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were present at the event, which saw Justice Kant taking the oath in Hindi, in the name of God.
