The Rajasthan High Court has taken a decisive stand against the burgeoning threat of cyber fraud by rejecting bail pleas for two accused in a major cyber fraud case.
The case emerged from an FIR at Jodhpur's Cyber Police Station, linking Adnan Haider and Rahul Jagdish Jadhav to a Rs 2 crore fraud targeting an elderly couple. Justice Ravi Chirania highlighted that traditional police methods fall short in cybercrime investigations.
Noting a staggering increase in cyber-financial complaints over recent years, the court directed the formation of the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Centre to enhance prevention and investigation efforts. Additional directives included stringent controls on financial transactions for the digitally inexperienced and the creation of specialized IT inspector roles to focus on cybercrime exclusively.
