In an extraordinary display of regional solidarity, India has launched Operation Sagar Bandhu, a comprehensive humanitarian mission to assist Sri Lanka in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah. The Indian Air Force rapidly deployed C-130 and IL-76 aircraft, airlifting essential relief supplies and NDRF personnel to affected areas.
On the night of November 28-29, 2025, over 21 tonnes of relief materials and critical supplies were transported to Colombo, with additional consignment en route via air and sea. This initiative highlights India's commitment to its 'Neighbourhood First' policy, emphasizing swift assistance to neighboring countries in times of crisis.
