The Delhi High Court has stepped in to ensure the safety of a 25-year-old Indian woman allegedly held captive in Dubai by a foreign national. Responding to a petition filed by her father, the court ordered the Indian government and the Consulate General of India in Dubai to take immediate action to secure her well-being.

Justice Sachin Datta emphasized the gravity of the situation and directed the concerned authorities to investigate the allegations and provide the necessary help to facilitate the woman's return to India, should she wish. The court specified the need for a status report from the authorities within two weeks, with further hearings set for December 15.

The petition revealed that the woman, who initially traveled to Dubai for a medical assistance job, has been subjected to physical abuse and restrictions on communication. Her father, V Thirunavukkarasu, claims she is unable to return due to her passport and visa being seized unlawfully.
