The Railway Protection Force (RPF) executed a major rescue operation, saving five minor girls from an alleged trafficking attempt to Tamil Nadu, conducted by two women at Tatanagar station in Jharkhand.

The girls, aged between 15 and 17, were transported by road from West Singhbhum district. The women, initially claiming to be friends on a personal trip, later admitted, under interrogation, to deceiving the teens with job promises.

The minors have been entrusted to the Child Welfare Committee, and their families have been informed. Meanwhile, steps are being taken to place the women, both from West Singhbhum, in judicial custody. This marks the second such RPF intervention in the region within two weeks.
