The Congress in Madhya Pradesh has issued a scathing critique of the state's BJP government, accusing it of fostering "anti-farmer" policies. According to senior Congress MLA and former agriculture minister Sachin Yadav, the BJP's electoral promises to farmers are mere "bundles of lies."

Yadav highlighted that the government's pledges, such as continuous electricity supply and fair procurement of crops at minimum support prices, remain unfulfilled. He argued that these unmet promises are compounded by a power supply crisis and shortages of essential fertilizers, which are severely impacting farmers.

The Congress leader further alleged a conspiracy to dismantle the mandi system, claiming financial and operational burdens are being unfairly placed on mandi boards, which owe substantial amounts to the state government. The resulting distress among farmers is evident in the struggles of onion and banana cultivators, who face inadequate market prices for their produce.
