Special Drive Nabs Contraband in Karnataka Prisons
Karnataka's DGP (Prisons) Alok Kumar reported the successful seizure of prohibited items like mobile phones and ganja during a 36-hour special drive in various state prisons. Significant finds included mobile phones, knives, SIM cards, and ganja in different prisons, promising more such actions to curtail illegal activities.

Karnataka Director General of Police (Prisons) Alok Kumar announced that a special drive across the state's prisons in the past 36 hours led to the confiscation of banned items such as mobile phones and marijuana.
The Bengaluru prison witnessed the seizure of six mobile phones and four knives, while the Mysuru prison saw the recovery of nine mobile phones and 11 SIM cards.
In the Belagavi prison, authorities confiscated four mobile phones and 366 grams of marijuana thrown over the walls from outside. Further seizures included four phones in Mangaluru and one in Vijayapura prison.
