China has reiterated its territorial claims over the Shaksgam Valley, amidst India's objections over Chinese infrastructure projects in the region. On Monday, China stated its activities in the area are entirely legitimate.
India asserts that the Shaksgam Valley is its territory, challenging the 1963 decision when Pakistan ceded the area to China. India has expressed its right to take measures to safeguard its interests.
Chinese officials assert that the China-Pakistan boundary agreement is legitimate. Meanwhile, India staunchly opposes the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as it passes through contested areas it considers its own, escalating tensions further over the Kashmir dispute.
