The Rajasthan Cabinet took decisive action on Wednesday by approving a draft bill that seeks to restrict the transfer of immovable properties in localities designated as 'disturbed'. Should the legislation pass, Rajasthan will join Gujarat in implementing such a measure.
State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel emphasized the urgent need for the bill, explaining that demographic imbalances in some areas threaten public order and communal harmony, often compelling residents to sell properties under duress during riots or mob violence. Transfers without prior approval will be deemed invalid.
In a comprehensive session, the cabinet also endorsed the Rajasthan Aerospace and Defence Policy, 2026, as well as the state's inaugural Semiconductor Policy. These strategies aim to foster indigenous manufacturing, boost employment, and attract significant investments in sectors crucial for the region's economic development.
