Nikhil Gupta, an Indian national, has pleaded guilty to charges related to a murder-for-hire plot targeting a Sikh extremist on American soil. This development arose after his extradition from the Czech Republic to the United States.

The plea was entered before Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn, who has advised District Judge Marrero to accept it. A control date for the case has been established for March 15. Initially, Gupta had entered a not guilty plea but has since changed his position.

Gupta was arrested at the behest of the U.S. government for his role in a conspiracy to assassinate Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a Khalistani separatist and dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada, in New York. This case marks a significant move in the international legal collaboration and the fight against extremist activities.
