Federal Officers Under Investigation for False Testimony in Immigrant Shooting

According to acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, a joint review by ICE and the Department of Justice has unveiled discrepancies in the officers' sworn statements. The officers are currently on administrative leave pending an investigation, which might result in their dismissal or criminal charges.
Following this revelation, the Department of Justice has opted to drop charges against the immigrant, Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis, citing new evidence that contradicts previous allegations. This incident occurs amid the controversial immigration enforcement surge by ICE in Minneapolis.
