DNA Discovery: Breakthrough in Nancy Guthrie's Mysterious Abduction Case
Investigators retrieved a DNA sample from a glove linked to a masked suspect seen near Nancy Guthrie's home before her abduction. Preliminary results are pending formal confirmation. Several gloves were found in the search, but only one matched the suspect’s, indicating a breakthrough in resolving this high-profile case.
Investigators have achieved a potential breakthrough in the mysterious abduction of Nancy Guthrie by obtaining a DNA sample from a discarded glove. The glove, found near Guthrie's Arizona home, reportedly matches those worn by a masked prowler seen in doorbell camera footage, according to an FBI statement.
The DNA results were obtained from a private crime lab on Saturday and await quality control and official confirmation. Once verified, the findings will be processed through a national DNA database. The FBI typically completes this process within 24 hours, aiming to advance the inquiry into Guthrie's disappearance.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen at her Tucson residence on January 31. Authorities suspect foul play due to her limited mobility, supported by traces of her blood confirmed at the scene. As the family and law enforcement continue their plea for public assistance, no proof of life after the abduction has yet been uncovered.
