Congress vs. BRS: Accusations and Unfulfilled Promises in Telangana

The Telangana political landscape heated up as BRS Working President K T Rama Rao launched a fierce critique against the ruling Congress. Accusing them of breaking poll promises, Rao highlighted their failure to provide legal status to guaranteed welfare measures, including financial aid for poor women.

Tensions rose in the assembly as Rama Rao demanded the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to locate a missing document crucial for legalizing the promises. He emphatically challenged the Congress to show proof of fulfilling their commitments like social pensions and unemployment benefits.

In defense, the Congress ministers cited large-scale financial disbursals under development schemes. Counterattacking, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka accused BRS of similar lapses during their decade-long rule, insisting that Congress is taking corrective measures to restore public trust.
