NCVET and Australia's ASQA Deepen Skilling Ties with VET Quality Partnership

In a move to strengthen global standards in vocational education, India’s National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) and Australia’s Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) have initiated collaboration to enhance quality assurance and mutual recognition in the skilling ecosystem.
The bilateral meeting, held on March 18, 2026, focused on aligning regulatory frameworks and exploring pathways for international benchmarking of vocational qualifications.
Strengthening Global Recognition of Skills
Chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Gaba, Executive Member, NCVET, the meeting brought together senior officials from both countries to discuss reforms in the Vocational Education, Training, and Skilling (VETS) sector.
The Australian delegation was led by Saxon Rice, CEO of ASQA, alongside representatives from the Australian High Commission.
Both sides emphasised that robust regulatory systems and quality assurance mechanisms are critical to improving the global mobility and recognition of skilled workers.
