In a major step towards enhancing citizen-centric digital services, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has signed a strategic agreement with MapmyIndia to integrate authorised Aadhaar centres onto the Mappls App, enabling residents to easily locate verified service points across the country.

The agreement, signed on April 1, 2026, is expected to be rolled out in the coming months and will significantly improve accessibility, transparency, and reliability in accessing Aadhaar-related services.

Seamless Access to Verified Aadhaar Services

Under this collaboration, UIDAI will provide a comprehensive database of authorised Aadhaar centres, which MapmyIndia will integrate into its Mappls platform. Once operational, users searching for Aadhaar services on the app will be directed exclusively to verified and authorised centres, eliminating confusion caused by unverified or fraudulent service providers.

The platform will also enable users to filter Aadhaar centres based on services offered, such as:

  • New Aadhaar enrolment (adult and child)

  • Address updates

  • Mobile number updates

  • Other Aadhaar-related services

This granular categorisation is expected to reduce wait times, improve service efficiency, and enhance user experience.

Tackling Misinformation and Enhancing Trust

A key objective of the initiative is to combat misinformation and unauthorised operations related to Aadhaar services. By digitally mapping only verified centres, UIDAI aims to ensure that residents are not misled by fraudulent entities or incorrect information—an issue that has occasionally affected service delivery in remote and urban areas alike.

The move aligns with the government’s broader push for trusted digital ecosystems and secure citizen services.

Nationwide Digital Mapping of Aadhaar Infrastructure

The collaboration will result in a nationwide digital map of Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs) and other authorised centres, making it easier for citizens—including those in semi-urban and rural regions—to locate the nearest service point.

Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO of UIDAI, emphasized the citizen-first approach behind the initiative:

“UIDAI is always driven by resident centricity. This collaboration will allow digital mapping of verified Aadhaar Centres across India and help people find authorised centres easily.”

Leveraging Indigenous Digital Infrastructure

MapmyIndia, a leading indigenous digital mapping and geospatial technology company, will ensure accurate representation, distinct listing, and real-time accessibility of Aadhaar centres on the Mappls App.

Rakesh Verma, Co-founder and CMD of MapmyIndia, highlighted the significance of the partnership:

“It is a privilege to serve UIDAI and enable people with easy access to Aadhaar Centres through the Mappls App.”

Strengthening India’s Digital Public Infrastructure

The initiative reflects the growing integration of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) with private-sector innovation. Aadhaar, which covers over 1.3 billion residents, remains one of the world’s largest digital identity systems, and improving access to its services is critical for governance, welfare delivery, and financial inclusion.

By combining UIDAI’s database with MapmyIndia’s geospatial capabilities, the partnership exemplifies how data-driven governance can enhance service delivery at scale.

What to Expect

  • Rollout on Mappls App in the next few months

  • Pan-India coverage of authorised Aadhaar centres

  • Service-based filtering for user convenience

  • Reduced dependence on intermediaries and improved transparency

A Citizen-Centric Digital Leap

As India continues to expand its digital ecosystem, this collaboration marks a significant step in making essential services more accessible, reliable, and user-friendly.

With Aadhaar serving as the backbone of numerous government schemes and digital services, the ability to quickly locate authorised service centres will directly benefit millions of residents across the country.
