Stalin Condemns 'Draconian' FCRA Bill

Speaking at a rally ahead of the April 23 Assembly polls, Stalin demanded the bill's withdrawal, noting widespread discontent.

Stalin pointed out the impact of the proposed legislation, warning it could lead to government takeovers of institutions for minor procedural lapses, such as delayed paperwork submissions. He accused the BJP-led central government of failing to protect the rights of Tamil Nadu's fishermen and criticized PM Modi for undermining India's foreign influence.

The DMK chief claimed the bill endangers constitutional rights and hinders humanitarian efforts, sparking disapproval even among opposition leaders. With large Christian populations in states like Kerala and Assam facing elections, he alleged the BJP's temporary retreat, warning of plans to pass the bill into law in a special parliamentary session.
