In a somber development, authorities in Arunachal Pradesh's Tirap district recovered the body of Laichat Wangpan, a 25-year-old from Chasa village, who went missing after being swept away by the Tissa River.
The incident occurred when Laichat and his brother, Wangthoa Wangpan, attempted to cross the swollen river after a meat purchase for Laichat's upcoming wedding. Tragically, Wangthoa slipped, prompting Laichat to bravely dive into the torrent in an unsuccessful rescue effort.
A coordinated search and rescue mission by NDRF, SDRF, and local agencies resulted in the recovery of both brothers' bodies, drawing joint efforts from regional teams and the local community, who expressed gratitude for the dedication of all involved.
