Digital Revolution: India Launches Census 2027 Self-Enumeration

India's Census 2027, led by the Registrar General of India, introduces a digital self-enumeration platform, marking a significant shift in data collection. Government officials emphasize its role in enhancing development and governance, urging citizens to participate actively for reliable data and effective delivery of government schemes.

In a landmark move, India kicked off Census 2027 with a digital edge, allowing citizens to participate in self-enumeration via a specially launched portal by the Registrar General of India. The initiative was inaugurated by Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, and the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, P K Mishra.

Rai highlighted this maiden digital endeavor as pivotal under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stressed its importance in propelling India's developmental agendas. The census, divided into two phases, begins with the houselisting and housing census, urging citizens to register on se.census.gov.in for the first stage.

P K Mishra has already completed self-enumeration, signaling commitment to the national project. The RGI praised his participation, stressing how the digital approach simplifies the process and boosts inclusiveness in governance. The public is encouraged to self-enumerate, contributing to reliable data essential for Viksit Bharat.
