In a heart-wrenching incident, a 35-year-old Chhattisgarh Armed Force constable, Jageshwar Prasad Thakur, was found dead at his rented home in Dhamtari, reportedly following a domestic dispute with his wife. Thakur's body was discovered hanging from the ceiling in the early hours of Monday.
The constable had only recently returned from election duty in West Bengal and was on leave at his residence. According to police officer Rajesh Jagat, Thakur had been living with his family in Dhamtari for nine years, having originally hailed from Bhatgaon village.
Thakur's brother, Tribhuvan, indicated that a heated argument on Sunday evening between the couple led to the wife leaving the home. Unable to reach Thakur despite numerous calls, the family grew worried and eventually found him after breaking into the locked room. Authorities have launched an investigation, suspecting a personal dispute as the reason for the suicide.
