Man sentenced to 5 years' rigorous imprisonment for making obscene videos of children in UP's Jhansi

A court in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi on Friday sentenced a man to five years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1.5 lakh for making obscene videos of children and selling them both domestically and abroad.
Assistant District Government Counsel (ADGC) Tej Singh Gaur said that Additional District and Sessions Judge Kanishka Singh on Friday held Ramji Prasad (32) guilty, and sentenced him to five years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1.50 lakh. In the event of non-payment of the fine, the convict will have to undergo an additional six months of imprisonment.
He said that the Anti-Corruption Branch of the CBI in Ghaziabad had lodged a case at the Erach police station on November 14, 2021. Prasad, a resident of Erach (in Jhansi district) used to make obscene videos of children and sell them.
The ADGC said that the CBI and the district police raided the accused's residence on November 16, 2021. Two mobile phones were recovered from the premises. The accused had handed over one of these mobile phones to his brother Shyamji a few days ago. Investigation revealed that Ramji had created 13 email IDs. Using 10 of these IDs, he was engaged in the illicit trade of obscene videos involving children.
