The Anti Corruption Bureau on Monday arrested a police sub-inspector in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.

Rameshwarlal, who was posted at New Mandi Ghadsana police station, was caught while allegedly accepting the bribe amount during a trap operation conducted by the Bureau's Bikaner unit, ACB Director General Govind Gupta said.

He said the Bureau had received a complaint alleging that the sub-inspector had demanded Rs 50,000 from the complainant in return for filing a final report (FR) in a case.

After negotiations, the accused allegedly agreed to accept Rs 20,000, he said.

Acting on the complaint, the ACB team laid a trap and arrested the accused while he was accepting the bribe amount.

The bribe money was recovered from the possession of the accused.
