CBN Cracks Down on Illegal Drug Trafficking Near Sonipat
The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) unit in Uttar Pradesh has apprehended a suspect with illegal narcotics near Haryana's Sonipat. The operation led to the seizure of various narcotic tablets and syrups, carried out under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan initiative.

The Central Bureau of Narcotics' Uttar Pradesh division successfully intercepted an illegal drug transport operation near Sonipat, Haryana. A collaborative effort with the Delhi Cell of the CBN Headquarters in Gwalior, the operation resulted in the arrest of an individual and the confiscation of 8,800 NRx tablets and 1,269 bottles of Codeine Phosphate syrup.
According to Praveen Bali, Deputy Narcotics Commissioner, the operation was part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Acting on solid intelligence, the CBN team stopped a vehicle on the Meerut-Kharkhoda highway, discovering a stash of Clonazepam and Tramadol tablets, along with the syrup, all lacking proper authorization. The accused is now detained under the NDPS Act, 1985, and further investigations aim to expose the origins and potential distribution networks of these illicit substances.
