Capture of Red Army Faction Rebel Spells Justice

A German court today handed down a 13-year prison sentence to Daniela Klette, formerly linked with the radical Red Army Faction, accusing her of involvement in a spree of armed robberies and an attempted kidnapping.

Klette, aged 67, was apprehended in 2024 after evading capture for over thirty years, living under an alias in Berlin. Her arrest was orchestrated by investigative journalists who utilized facial recognition technology to track her movements.

The court, presided over by spokesperson Ahmad Mohamad, stated that Klette's ties to the Red Army Faction were irrelevant to the robbery charges. Nevertheless, her legal representation, Lukas Theune, announced plans to appeal, criticizing the exclusion of potential evidence.
