Authorities in Switzerland have classified the stabbing of three individuals at Winterthur's train station as an 'act of terror'. The incident occurred on Thursday morning when a 31-year-old dual national with Swiss and Turkish citizenship attacked three men before police arrested him.

The assailant had previously been flagged for distributing Islamic State propaganda in 2015. Authorities have confirmed that he was recently in a psychiatric institution but had been released after being deemed not dangerous. The victims, aged 28, 43, and 52, suffered different levels of injury, with the oldest still hospitalized after surgery. The Zurich region's head of security described the assault as 'an evil act of terror'.
